From Abercraf, just 2.5 miles away, you can step over the border of the National Park and set your sights on Pen y Fan, the highest point of this famous 350 square-mile expanse of countryside. Ystradgynlais has a Welsh-speaking heritage and a great sense of community. The town has the convenience of a local Tesco Superstore and a range of traditional facilities and services, including schools and a Community Hospital. The River Tawe is one of the local landmarks, running through the town and following the route of the Swansea Valley down to Swansea Bay.

The best thing about living in West Wales is that you have the city, the coast, and the countryside to choose from. It’s as easy to get to Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot, and Bridgend as it is to the Brecon Beacons, the Gower Peninsula Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
