This space was built on the site of the former Lime Grove Studios, which was previously visited by celebrities from film, television, music, and even royalty. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second and Prince Philip visited in 1953, and The Beatles filmed their first every television appearance here for ‘The 625 Show’ in 1963, performing ‘From Me to You’, ‘Thank You Girl’, and ‘Please Please Me’. Numerous other famous artists and popular shows were recorded here, including Led Zeppelin, Top of the Pops and Doctor Who, prior to the studio’s closure and demolition to make way for today’s car park. Built in 1994, the parking space is a well-preserved example of parking space design of the era. It is built in the traditional rectangular shape, and features brick paving in a classic early 90’s style.
