This Art Deco seafront villa has been lovingly restored by the current owners to an exceedingly high standard. It is full of iconic features including coved and patterned ceilings, original American hardwood flooring, fireplaces, panelled doors, picture rails and the staircase, while still providing modern facilities such as a heated swimming pool, hot tub and sauna.

From the parking area you can see the external Art Deco influences including the pantile roof, curved windows and balcony. French doors open into a charming lobby leading to the entrance hall with access to a guest bedroom. There is an archway to the inner hall with herringbone flooring and an original chevron glazed door to the superb lounge. This has a bay with recently installed full height windows offering uninterrupted sea views and a stone fireplace. Original folding chevron glazed panels open into the dining room that includes an Art Deco fireplace.

The large kitchen/breakfast room has shaker style units and granite worktops housing various appliances, a central island/breakfast bar, a utility area, access to the sauna and an archway leading down to a charming dual aspect sitting room with French doors to the rear terrace. This floor also includes a large storeroom, coat/boot room and a cloakroom.

The landing leads to the family bathroom, a stunning wet room with access to the attic, a separate toilet and four double bedrooms including one with a vanity basin, another with French doors to the front balcony and the stunning first bedroom. This has a vast bay window and banquette seating offering a panoramic vista, an ensuite shower room, fitted cupboards and balcony access.

The large terrace includes a covered hot tub and surrounds the heated pool. There is a large lawn bordered by shrub beds and pathways to the lower garden terrace area that includes a summerhouse, a covered dining area and storage facilities.

What the Owner says:

We moved here 10 years ago and have thoroughly enjoyed restoring the house to its former glory, including replacing the roof, enhancing the patterned ceilings, installing replacement windows and updating the swimming pool. The location is ideal with uninterrupted views across the clifftops and the sea and only a three minute walk to Palm Bay beach. We have easy access to local supermarkets and it is not far to the centre of Margate with its famous Main Sands, Dreamland Amusement Park and the Turner Contemporary art gallery, while the Old Town offers interesting eateries and quirky shops. There are also hotels in the town while for sporting enthusiasts there are football, cricket and tennis clubs and golfing aficionados can play at the North Foreland or Birchington and Westgate golf clubs.

Fast trains from Margate station can whisk you to St Pancras in under an hour and a half and there is easy access to the Thanet Way. Good primary schools are available in the vicinity, while the various Thanet towns provide very good secondary, grammar and private education.
