This superb Edwardian residence sits in a generous plot and includes stunning views, delightful gardens, an office, a cinema and a swim spa. It has great external appeal and characterful internal features including high ceilings, dado rails, the original staircase, arches and fireplaces.

It is approached through electric gates and a long drive to the garage and off road parking. The hall has black and white flooring, understairs cupboards and bookshelves, a cloakroom and access to the main reception rooms including the dual aspect sitting room with a bay window and a fireplace with a log burner. The elegant dining room features a cast iron fireplace with inset tiles and a sculptured surround, while the cosy family room with its coal effect fire has a half-glazed door to the superb orangery that provides far-reaching views.

The dual aspect kitchen/breakfast area includes shaker style units with granite worktops housing built in appliances, a banquette seating area and access to the rear terrace, an adjacent utility area with additional appliances and a door to the back porch. The basement has a cinema, gym and workshop.

The first floor galleried landing leads to the modern family bathroom and four bedrooms with delightful views. One of the doubles is dual aspect with fitted cupboards and an en suite shower, another is used as an office and the dual aspect first bedroom includes fitted cupboards and an en suite bathroom. The large garage has a mezzanine floor accessed by an external door and staircase to the self-contained office.

The gardens include the spacious front garden, a paved rear terrace and a path to a large lawn and the hexagonal summerhouse beside the heated swim spa, the wildlife pond and a raised decked terrace.

What the Owner says:

We bought this property 10 years ago because we wanted access to local grammar schools. We also wanted to be in a charming village where we could walk to the pubs, local shops and one that had a reliable bus service and Wingham ticked all the boxes. However it was the views from this house we instantly fell in love with together with the spacious rooms and large gardens. Building the double garage with the office above has been a real boon, while the addition of the orangery means we enjoy the views whatever the weather and creating the lower ground floor provides a relaxing space.
The pretty village includes a primary school, two pubs, independent shops, a surgery, dentist and beauty salon as well as a recreation ground and numerous societies and clubs while nearby Gibsons farm shop and café provides upmarket and local produce.
Excellent additional educational facilities are available in Canterbury, Sandwich and Thanet with Canterbury also having three universities. This city includes high street stores, individual shops, restaurants, historic buildings and two mainline stations including Canterbury West where the high speed train can whisk you to London in under an hour.
