Pilton is a characterful village close to the main centres of Glastonbury, City of Wells, Shepton Mallet and Castle Cary.  Castle Cary with its mainline station to London Paddington.  The village is well known for being the home to the world famous Glastonbury Festival, for which local residents receive free "village" tickets,  Within the village is a coop shop with post office, a village hall, playing fields with a clubhouse and a popular village "foodie" pub.   It is of course most famous for being the home of Glastonbury Festival.
