Oak House is situated in the pretty village of Leinthall Starkes in the Mortimer Forest just 6.5 miles south west of historic Ludlow. The nearby village of Wigmore is one mile to the west. The village has a thriving community with local church, village hall, a village pub/restaurant, a community shop, primary school and a well regarded secondary school. Leinthall Starkes is set amidst beautiful unspoilt countryside it is a destination for tourists and the perfect spot from which to explore the Welsh Marches. Oak House was designed and built by our vendors, completed in 2002 great care was taken to reflect the local vernacular and quality and reclaimed materials were used throughout. The main part of the house is oak framed, constructed by Welsh Oak, a further extension to the front is timber framed. With a steeply pitched roof with reclaimed tiles at the front and Chinese slate to the rear and outer cladding of weatherboarding and brickwork. With oil fired under-floor heating, the Worcester boiler was installed just two years ago and still has five years left on the warranty.
