What an idyllic location. We are delighted to present adorable Haywain Cottage in Hanley Swan, an extremely sought after location. Approaached via open countryside, the cottage has been extended sympathetically and for the current owners has been a much loved family home for the past 27 years. They are reluctantly moving to be nearer family but truly adore their happy home and are relinquishing it with a heavy heart.

The house has a large driveway with parking for many cars plus a large outbuilding which originally was "the Haywain" and then subsequently, a large garage. The current owners converted it into a yoga studio some 20 years ago with underfloor heating, a high quality oak laminate floor and sympathetic lighting. There is power, drainage and a water supply to the building.

As mentioned, once a garage, it could be again for classic cars or bikes or would make a sensational Airbnb or Annexe for family members. It would be perfect for multigenerational living if the yoga studio was further converted.

The cottage is semi-detached and is surprisingly private, surrounded as it is by fields and open countryside with wonderful, uninterrupted views of the majestic Malvern hills. It really is an idyllic spot.

Enter Haywain Cottage to a welcoming uncluttered entrance hall, cloakroom, a good sized snug with log burner, a sun filled dining room/conservatory, a handy utility. Proceeding on, you encounter the sunny south facing open plan kitchen, sitting room with log burner, with reclaimed oak flooring. The property is double glazed throughout with hardwood quality windows with plenty of light pouring in and doors opening directly onto the pretty, rear garden.

The kitchen was extended ten years ago and is a great sociable space opening up into the sitting room, an ideal space to entertain or cosy up in winter. If you like a sunny home then this is perfect for you as its south-facing.

Head up the stairs to the delightful, large main bedroom, complete with stunning views, sunshine, oodles of storage space and a tasteful ensuite shower room. There are three further bedrooms, two are doubles and the fourth is an ideal home office or would make a perfect dressing room. There is also a good sized family bathroom.

The garden has been tastefully landscaped with carefully thought out pretty seating areas to maximise the sublime views and alfresco dining. With a large pond being a major water feature and a fantastic, sun filled, contemporary glass home office, the perfect peaceful space to work in, away from the main house. Additionally there is a garden store and log shed/paint store.

The garden faces due south and is sunny most of the day, with areas of dappled shade from mature trees on the boundary and a shaded seating area.

The Swan Inn at Hanley Swan is a three minute drive away, a popular gastro pub close to the green and duck pond. The Inn at Welland is magnificent, an excellent pub and restaurant is a cut above the rest and just seven minutes drive from the cottage.

This adorable cottage with its own private driveway, excellent location and living space is in a highly desirable location and ticks so many boxes for a family or couple seeking pretty, versatile and warm next home.

LOCATION

Haywain Cottage, while actually with a postcode of Hanley Castle is closer to Hanley Swan, (to do with the unusual Parish boundaries!). This beautiful village lies between the towns of Malvern and Upton upon Severn. The much loved pub, the Swan Inn is a focal point of village life and serves wonderful food and cask ales. The Inn at Welland, boasts a Michelin Bib Gourmand and an AA Rosette Award for culinary excellence.
