Corner Cottage is a substantial detached stone cottage set in a conservation area of this desirable North Oxfordshire village.
This impressive house is set within a large plot approaching a third of an acre and dates back to 1860 retaining many charming character features and has been extended in more recent years to provide a wonderful home ideal for modern family living.
The centrepiece is the superb bright and welcoming open plan kitchen/breakfast/dining room with vaulted ceiling and exposed brick and stone, perfect for entertaining and family gatherings, with the feeling of light and space enhanced by multiple windows on two sides and tri-fold doors opening to the garden.
The farmhouse style kitchen blends modern functionality with classic charm and comes with a range cooker, Belfast sink, oak work surfaces extending to a breakfast bar, and travetine flooring. A large separate utility room and shower room with convenient access from the front of the house provides ample space for white goods and could serve as a boot room.
Two spacious sitting rooms sit either side of the front reception hallway, each with lovely, exposed brick fireplaces with wood burners and oak beams. The sitting room leads directly off the kitchen/diner providing a lovely flow to the house and benefits from plenty of natural daylight. The drawing room is a comfortable retreat with glass double doors leading to a pleasant patio area. On the ground floor there is also a study/fifth bedroom and bike store. Underfloor heating runs throughout the majority of the ground floor space.
A contemporary sweeping oak staircase with black metal spindles rises to the first floor where you will find two generous double bedrooms, both double aspect and with fitted storage. The principal bedroom come with an ensuite shower room. The family bathroom makes a lovely retreat with a roll top bath and decorative wall panelling. The staircase continues to the third floor with two further bedrooms with exposed stone walls.
Outside the south facing garden to the rear and left of the cottage has a large lawn and an attractive enclosed terrace ideal for outside entertaining in a peaceful setting not overlooked by other properties. Double gates at the rear of the property lead to a gravelled driveway offering plenty of parking leading to the detached workshop. A further driveway can be found at the front of the house on the right-hand side offering more parking for several vehicles. There is also an attached wood store.
The workshop could be converted into an annexe, subject to the relevant planning consents as it has been built to building regulations with cavity walls and insulation and three phase power.
