Locality - Brocksford is located just outside the village of Doveridge, in the Derbyshire Dales
near the border with Staffordshire and about 1.2 mi east of Uttoxeter. Its name may come from it having a bridge over the river Dove (i.e. Dove(B)ridge), a tributary of the River Trent.
The A50 runs to the north of the village and is the main way into the village.
Doveridge has a bus stop which is served by routes 1 and 1E.The Nearest Railway station is Uttoxeter. The nearest airport is East Midlands.
Owner's perspective - We moved back to Derbyshire in 1998 and purchased Garden Cottage for our retirement. Over the last 24 years we have extended the cottage and completely landscaped the gardens and area around the pond. It has been a real enjoyment doing this and we have been very happy here. However, due to our advancing ages we feel this is the right time to move on, but it will be heartbreaking, and we will miss the friendly community here at Brocksford.
The Cottage has good access to A50, M1, M6 and East Midlands Airport. It is also enjoyable to walk along to Sudbury Hall, have a coffee, or walk to Doveridge which has a village shop/Post Office/Coffee shop and a Public House.
