This elegant apartment forms one of only four in the north wing, being a later addition of this Grade II listed, Neo-Classical style mansion built in 1805-06 for the second Earl of Lucan to the design of the reputable architect, John Buonarotti Papworth. The abbey has enjoyed a fascinating history, including being purchased as a school in 1932 by the Community of St. Peter the Apostle; where we understand this wing was formerly the refectory.
