A pleasant and roomy cottage with a wonderful sun room extension, set in a secluded and peaceful position with outstanding views across the Otmoor valley and a stunning garden. Great condition throughout, three bedrooms, pantry and cloak room. NO CHAIN.
Bletchingdon is an attractive North Oxfordshire village, set on a plateau overlooking Oxford and Kidlington to the South. Its roots date back to Norman times, evidence of which can most easily be seen in St Giles parish church. Many residents are drawn to the village by its First school. There is a new village hall, which also contains a community run shop, and a new school, in addition to an active social club. Commuting access is excellent with Oxford and Bicester within easy driving distance, Islip and Bicester stations are close by and there are frequent buses running to and from Oxford.
.
Number four Blenheim Terrace has the unusual distinction of being an affordable house in an expensive village, close to amenities and commuting, with a view and garden to die for. Tucked away off a quiet path, the position at the end of it instantly seduces with the feeling of seclusion, peace and space. It is well presented, with many recent upgrades, the ideal village house.
..
The side door (the most frequently used entrance) leads into a large porch/ conservatory that is glazed all the way down one side. This is an ideal store space for boots, buggies, bikes etc, and behind it is a utility/ pantry containing a washing machine and drier. Entering the kitchen, the space opens up to provide the ideal day room. Units running round three sides provide ample storage as well as a generous run of wooden work surfaces. The kitchen runs round into a sun room which provides excellent space for a large table and chairs, with wonderful light that flows throughout the whole kitchen. Off to the front, the living room is very attractive, and well proportioned. Windows to the front look out over the garden and trees. The main feature is a lovely open fireplace, a must in a cottage on winter nights. The room feels calm and relaxed with its wooden floor and soft decor, and it is large enough to house a very good size suite. Although rarely used, the front door is at the bottom of the stairs, and next to it is a well presented cloak room.
...
Upstairs, all three bedrooms are surprisingly light and airy. All three are pleasant doubles, albeit the smallest is, in practical terms, more a large single or spacious study. Two enjoy the spectacular views over the garden and fields to the rear. The view stretches miles, uninterrupted all the way towards Otmoor which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Serving all three is a bathroom with a white suite and this includes a shower above the bath.
....
Outside is a wonder. The house is quite a challenge to find unless you know where to look! This fact also affords it great seclusion. A path from the village lane (on which there is ample, unrestricted parking available) leads past one neighbouring house then onwards to our frontage, where a path to the right leads through to the garden. This is separated into two parts. Around the side of the house and sun room is an area of terrace, then the lawn takes precedent running out to the walls on the left, rear and right, with borders containing a number of pretty shrubs and flowering plants to the edges. A gate to he right leads through to a larger lawned area, this time also containing shed, greenhouse and sandpit. The whole garden is enclosed and secure, a safe space for both children and animals. And from almost everywhere in the garden, the view across the farmland is ever-present.
