A warm and comfortable family house, extended to provide five bedrooms and large, light living spaces, set near the bottom of a quiet cul-de-sac and backing onto playing fields. Just a couple of minutes' walk from the well-regarded local schools, frequent buses, and the historic town centre.
Woodstock is a thriving town just to the north of Oxford which grew up as a coach stop on the road north, then around the Royal Hunting Lodge which became the site of the magnificent Blenheim Palace, home of the Dukes of Marlborough since the early 1700s. The town is now a World Heritage site, and attracts visitors from all over the globe. Central Woodstock offers an amazing diversity of cosmopolitan amenities with high quality restaurants, pubs, boutiques and antique shops all available. There is a Woodstock Under Fives Association (WUFA), which provides a lovely playgroup for children aged 2 to 5, schooling from 5 to 18 and a regular bus service to Oxford Parkway station (from which there are trains to London Marylebone, taking approximately 1 hour), Oxford and local market towns of Chipping Norton and Witney.

7 Glover's Close has been owned by the same family for 20 years. Initially it was a standard modern family property but, like most in the area, it lacked real elbow space. Since then, our clients have extended it in three directions hence today it offers significant space on both floors that few properties can rival. However while the house works extremely well in its current format, there is opportunity to convert all or part of the garage, knock through the kitchen, add an en-suite etc if desired. It has been an ideal, warm and comfy family house that our clients have enjoyed immensely.

The front door opens into a wide porch that is beautifully lit by windows to the front and side, and to the rear the stairs rise away from you. It's a wide enough space for buggies, coats etc with ease. The floor is tiled, and this theme continues through much of the downstairs. On the left the cloak room is modern and well appointed. Beyond it to the rear a door opens into the study/ dining room. A large window to the rear overlooks the pretty garden, and underfoot is the original parquet floor. To the left the kitchen runs the full depth of the house. Consequently there is a good range of units running round three sides, with the sink placed in front of the rear window, and ample room for a large fridge/ freezer. To the front the breakfast area is ideal for a good sized table with more than enough room to spare for a dresser/ sideboard. It is worth noting that here there is another door leading out to the double length garage, which also features a window and glazed door to the garden. Potentially, this could offer the option to provide a separate utility room, or annex. It also appears natural that the wall between the kitchen and dining room could be removed (subject to consents). The centrepiece of the ground floor is the extended living space. At the front the room features an open fireplace. The parquet floor here has been refurbished recently giving a deep, rich hue to the timber - a really attractive material that's also practical. Natural light in abundance floods through, with the extended rear featuring sliding glazed doors to the garden in addition to the windows to two sides. The combination of this space makes for a wonderful family living area unusual in almost any property.

Upstairs there are five bedrooms. The largest occupies the same footprint as the whole garage beneath it, a huge space that could accommodate almost any needs including potentially an en-suite. Next door to it a further pretty double, set into the eaves, has a vast walk-in wardrobe. As this is next door to the bathroom, affording easy access to plumbing, we see no reason why an en-suite could not be added here, too. The two adjacent bedrooms are smaller, with one featuring a large box bay window over the garden and the other almost square hence an extremely easy to use large single. The last bedroom is another double aspect, this time fitted with a range of wardrobes across one wall. All five are served by a bathroom with white suite, and fully tiled across both the walls and floor.
....
Outside to the front the house is set well back from the roadway, and includes a gravel drive providing parking for three cars (more could be accommodated is wished). Next to it the frontage is mainly lawn, with a path to the door and various pretty shrubs and trees. To the rear of the house the garden is mature and pretty with borders all round that are well stocked. Mower storage etc is provided by a shed that could if needed be a workshop as it is partly insulated and wired for mains electricity. To the rear a gate leads to a footpath that allows easy access to the schools and also the playing fields beyond. NB the walk into the centre of town from here is less than ten minutes at an average pace.
